141 of these versatile engines were built. In service 1915, this superheated Pacific engine featured a round
Vanderbilt tender. They were soon to be seen in all parts of the country except Wellington, on express and goods trains.
Later in their lives they were found hauling freight on branch lines. Builders included the NZR Workshops, North British,
and A & G Price of Thames. Eleven Wab locos were converted to Ab locos and had 'G' tender bogies fitted. The On Line kit is designed to be built in various configerations and extra detail parts are available to make a specific locomotive.
